What a trip down memory lane looking at the pictures you have put on this site! I love you like you are my family and my heart and soul hurts for you all. I love you so much! All I can say is dear bawpaw and Shery are together once again. Love you…Anne

I remember vividly the first time I met Mr. B around April 1967 in Fayetteville, AR. I can see Mr. and Mrs B walking in the front door of the DG house holding the hand of the cutest little girl, Michelle Batliner. Mr. and Mrs. B made several visits over the college years and we had many a discussion regarding Shery’s academic and social life. When we moved to Richardson, TX Mr. B always treated us as if we were part of his family, for better or worse. Mr. B loved his family. I loved visiting with him at the shop, and in later years, in Shreveport. Mr. B always made us laugh with his detailed storytelling. He weathered many storms but was able to stand strong. Shery loved him dearly and I can hear her describing him, “He was a real trooper!” We miss Mr. B!

I loved the pictures Michelle gave you. Fun to see Shery at a young age. In the picture standing next to her Christmas stocking I notice the spelling of her name is different….when did it change to Shery?

Emily-Happy Birthday! Your Dad emailed us that he is going to birthday party down with you! So happy he will be there to tell you how much he loves and supports you in all you do. Though your mother is not there with you today, I hope you can feel her love and support-always-in all you do. Know that her love and support for you is never-ending. She was so happy to see you 32 years ago today. You were such a beautiful baby! Your parents were – and are – so proud of you! We are, too.

I did not forget your Mother’s 63rd birthday April 23-just couldn’t get the remembrance on the computer. I missed being able to call her and commiserate the numbers-big numbers! I’m only 15 days older but she always made her point of being younger than me. It is so easy to picture her in my favorite photo of us in college dancing at DG party. She is wearing a beautiful silver and brown lace-look paper dress with silver glittered hose-we wore hose back then everywhere. She had the haircut I’m seeing today a lot lately, almost shaved short on one side and a long curve forward toward the face on the other side. Amazing that hairstyle came back (kinda). We had a great time with the live band dancing the night away. When I get my hands on that photo, I will give you a copy. She was the talk of the campus with the paper dress. She was always a fashion icon wearing Mr. B’s dress shop latest. I miss laughing with her about the good times we had together. Fact is, I just miss her.

Have a wonderful birthday today. 32 is a good place to be. Enjoy it!

Looking at these pictures for some reason reminds me that Shery and I ran the Framing House from the summer of 1981 until the day of the wreck – June 18, 1988 – 7 years – we once figured that we had made over 10,000 picture frames together during that period
